About Debbie Siebers

Debbie Siebers has been working in the fitness and training business for over 20 years. As a certified member of the AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), the world's largest fitness education association, she has developed and perfected numerous proprietary routines for her clients so they can attack the common trouble spots. In 1999, Debbie joined Beachbody where she developed the popular Thin Thighs Guaranteed! video.

She got her initial experience in personal training working for Body-by-Jake®, a pioneer in popularizing personal fitness in the entertainment community. She has also worked as a trainer at Crunch, Powerhouse Gym, Meridian Sports Club, Todd Tramp's Body Sculpting Gym, and the Peninsula chain of luxury hotels. Debbie has been featured on numerous television programs including Fit TV's health and fitness show Fitting It In, Body-by-Jake exercise segments, as well as on CNN, E! Entertainment Television, and various broadcast network TV stations.

A Personal Story

Growing up, I led an active lifestyle. I was a high school cheerleader and gymnast and was in good shape but had horrible eating habits. I come from a family of eight children, so every Saturday my mom, God bless her, baked enough cookies, pies, and brownies to feed an army! I loved sweets and got in the habit of eating whatever I wanted, as much as I wanted.

Those eating habits eventually caught up with me when I graduated high school and became a lifeguard, sitting by the pool all day. My physical activity stopped but my eating didn't. I gained 20 pounds that summer and suddenly developed a weight problem. I had always taken my slim, athletic figure for granted and all of a sudden, didn't know how to discipline myself not to eat the things I loved. Because I was so unhappy and pressured myself to lose weight, I would end up eating even more and the problem escalated. That's when I became a compulsive overeater. I had absolutely no control over what I was putting in my mouth. Every day I would tell myself I was going to start my diet, and every day I would fail. I felt completely hopeless. I hated shopping for clothes. I hated the way I looked.

I moved from Wisconsin to Los Angeles, and was fueled with excitement and determined to change my life. I joined Weight Watchers and slowly began learning how to eat right. With support, knowledge, and structure, I lost 12 pounds almost immediately. Even though I had lost some weight, I still found myself looking to food for comfort. I was terrified that before long I would gain my weight back.

Then came the decision that truly changed my life. I decided to join a gym. As I started exercising, I began to feel better about myself. I discovered that when I started working out consistently, I automatically wanted to start eating better. It was like an upward spiral. When I was inactive and depressed, it was easy for me to say "Who cares? I'll just have that doughnut!" But, when I was physically active, I felt more energized, more in control and in tune with my body, so I naturally wanted to eat healthier. It was this powerful connection that inspired me to pursue a career in fitness. I became a personal trainer at that very same gym and went on to work for Body-by-Jake, training celebrities. I could hardly believe how much my life had changed. I was once an overweight miserable young girl, who thought she would never be able to break the cycle of compulsive eating and now I was a personal trainer to the stars. I felt so empowered!

I've been involved in fitness since 1988, and I'm in the best shape of my life. In 1998, I met Carl Daikeler through a mutual friend, and that led to the creation of the Thin Thighs Guaranteed! video for Beachbody. The popularity of that video led to additional research with Beachbody into ways you can get better results in less time. The result is Slim in 6.
