2002 Hawaii Trip
My name is Jason Nicholson and I am 31 years old. I am single with no children and I live in Dallas, Texas. I am a business consultant for Capital One Financial Services, Inc. My job causes me to travel quite extensively so staying in shape has always been difficult for me. Not to mention that every place I visit I am being taken out for lunch and dinner. I was also a fulltime student at DeVry University during all of this travel and throughout most of my first 90 days of Power 90. I am proud to say that I finally graduated on June 22, 2002.
I have always been involved in sports while growing up, but I was always a little overweight, or the kid that got stuck being the offensive lineman while everyone else got to go for the long bomb. I played football and wrestled in high school and then played a little semi-pro football around Phoenix where I used to live. I also enjoy mountain biking which is not easy to do in Texas, since it is so flat here. I do like to travel, unfortunately I do not get to have much fun on my business trips even though I get to go to San Diego, Houston, Richmond, Virginia and Phoenix. I love to go to the movies, which can be bad since I love popcorn and lots of butter or butter flavored oil as it is called now. Since I travel so much I have not been able to do as many things with civic organizations or community groups that I used to. I hope that will change soon.
So what made me decide to try out Beachbody? Well, weight problems have been in my family for years. I never knew my biological father, but I recently found out that he passed away at the age of 46 from heart disease. This caused me to take a look at myself in the mirror and decide that I needed to do something. I didn't have any real guidance and I don't have time to go to a gym.
Then one night while on a business trip to San Diego, California I was sitting in my hotel room working on my laptop and eating an entire pizza when I was sidetracked by a commercial. It was Beachbody's Power 90 infomercial. I got sucked into watching the whole thing and wrote down the information. I honestly forgot to bring the information with me. Luckily I was back in San Diego two weeks later and wouldn't you know it, I saw the same Beachbody infomercial. So, this time I made sure to not forget the information. I thought, "If I have seen it twice then someone is trying to tell me something. "
As soon as I was back in Dallas I started to research the website. I showed it to a few people who of course said "Oh that stuff never works, they are just a gimmick". Well, everyone except my girlfriend Tami (Tamus) who offered to try it with me. We both ordered our Power 90 videos, supplements and power bands on the same day.
We received our videos on a Tuesday and started our workouts the next morning. Neither of us missed a single workout for the entire 90 days. It was really helpful to have someone there that was going through the same things that you are. I think that is the beauty of the www. Beachbody. com message boards. I can go on there and read inspirational messages from others that are seeing and doing the same things that I am. I can get help when I feel down or when I need help with my diet. Now that I have finished the first 90 days I can share my experiences as a Power 90 graduate. I can show my friends online that it doesn't matter what you look like before as long as you work and push to get to where you want to be.
I really must thank the folks at Beachbody for creating Power 90. I have since started using Power Half-Hour to do in conjunction with my second round of Power 90. I am constantly in the chat room to see what everyone is up to. I have made so many new friends that I know are genuine people. We have all told each other our stories and even though many of us may have never met in person there is a great bond between us. I really want to thank Tony Horton for helping develop this great program and not only for the kind words he has to say on our threads, but also for the help and inspiration that he has given us in the chat room. It seems like he is always there. Not only does he help us, but also he shows us that Beachbody is not just about making a sale. They are about changing people's lives and helping people live the way they always wanted to, but may have never known how.
I have to say that I have tried many products in the past. Everything from Xenadrine with Ephedra to the AB rollers and I have only had bad results or side effects from those products. I have been using the Beachbody supplements from day one and I have not had any problems nor have I had any side effects from them. I have noticed increased energy and I have not gotten sore from my workouts. I think this is mainly due to the way the program is setup and the supplements. You get to stretch before and after each workout, which I had never done before. The workouts are also not so strenuous that you are sore the next day. I love the way I feel after I workout and throughout the day.
I meet with hundreds of people in my travels and many of them have remarked about the changes that they have seen in me, both physically and mentally. I am a much happier person now and I enjoy life much more. Several of these people have talked about starting the program as well. Two of the people have recently ordered Power 90 (Brinda Gogineni and Cory Powell).
I was in the Marine Corps when I was 18-21. I received a discharge that was medical under honorable conditions for severe back pain from trauma I received while serving in the Persian Gulf War. The pain had limited me from getting an effective workout for many years. This then caused me to gain weight from a lack of exercise. As the problems compounded I developed pain in my feet. I know that looking back on everything that much of this was due to being overweight. Since I have started Power 90 I have lost 41 pounds and 13. 3% body fat. I was able to cut 14. 25 inches in total and 9. 5 of that was off my hips and waist. My back is no longer a problem and feet have not hurt in months. I truly do thank each and every person at Beachbody for helping to put this program together and make it available to people like myself. If there is ever anything that I can do to repay you please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you very much!
