2001 Hawaii Trip


Dear Friends at,

I am a 54 year old physician who was enjoying the fruits of my labors except I was feeling old, getting flabby and soft, and, worst of all, was experiencing high blood pressure for the first time in my life. It was hovering in the 140/100 range.

Like most physicians, I hate taking medications; probably because we see the complications of them more than a layperson would. Therefore, I decided to lose weight and get more exercise to see if I could get my blood pressure down.

In the past, I had tried many diets and have owned about every piece of home exercise equipment made. I had come to the conclusion that a personal trainer would be great except for the cost, the inconvenience and the embarrassment of having another person overhauling me. Then I saw your infomercial. I could have a great trainer like Tony Horton in my home, whenever I wanted, and cheap! The other thing that sold me was that Carl and Jon had actually completed that program and did great. I figured if they could do it, I could do it. I can�t tell you how many times I pulled out the Power 90 Guide to look at their pictures to get "re-inspired."

The combination of aerobics and sculpting made sense medically from what I had researched and the eating plan was also sound and simple. Eat the things that are good for you and eat smaller amounts. I finished my 90 days on August 29, 2001 and am extremely pleased with the results.

It takes discipline to complete the 90 days. I was over zealous on the exercise portion, taking my dumbbells with me as I traveled and not taking the day of rest more than four times during the ninety days. I was under zealous with regard to curbing my eating, though; but I plan to do better as I continue.

The most important thing is that my blood pressure is now in the 115/75 range with no medication. I feel great. I lost about 15 pounds and two inches of waistline. My clothes fit better except for my shorts and trousers. I had to buy 32-inch waists instead of 34 inch. One thing that surprised and pleased me is that my face is now more angular and not round and chubby looking. Everyone talks about great looking abs and so on, but nobody sees that under my white coat, but my patients have been commenting on my losing weight obviously based on my facial change.

I plan to continue using the principles Power 90 has taught me to maintain my weight, fitness and blood pressure and have shared my story with my staff and patients.
