More than just a delicious shake
Beachbody's Whey Protein Powder was specially formulated so it can be mixed with water, added to fruit smoothies, sprinkled over cereal or dessert, or mixed with milk for a great-tasting, healthy shake. It comes in two delicious flavors: chocolate and vanilla.
Why whey protein?
Whey protein is an ideal supplement for most fitness programs because it contains the highest concentration of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) of any single protein source. BCAAs are essential amino acids in muscle protein, and help reduce the amount of muscle protein breakdown during exercise.* Use whey protein to supercharge your workouts and lead you to a leaner, stronger, healthier body!

Rated 4 out of 5 by High Roller The sweetner is natural, which is important
Yes it has fructose, which is a good thing...it natural ingredient found in honey, tree and vine fruits, flowers, berries, and most root vegetables, It is an ingredient that is absorbed directly into the bloodstream during digestion. That's what we as body builders are looking for, something that will help the protein get in the blood stream faster. And don't mix eggs with any protein shake...it will take up to two hours to get into your system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Muddy_Dog Superb Drinkability
I have only been using this supplement for 10 days and I have never taken Whey Protein before so I do not have anything to compare it to. I ordered the chocolate flavor, and when mixed with milk tastes phenomenal, just like chocolate milk. Even if you mix it with water it is pretty good (tastes almost like that drink Yoohoo) Definitely worth trying, I know it is another shake to take post workout but it is really delicious. I actually look forward to taking this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by supermom Great tasting protien bars
I bought the variety pack. Compared to other protien bars I have tried these bars are amazing. The calorie count is great, too. My only complaint would be the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by seabass don't worry about the fructose
fructose is just a simple sugar found in fruit. it's actually beneficial to eat some simple sugars after a workout, but there are only 3 grams of sugar in the shake so it really isn't significant

Rated 5 out of 5 by nanaaa I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this because I hadn't had much luck in finding a whey protein shake that I didn't dread having to drink! I had tried many before, mainly from GNC, and I was never satisfied with the taste. When this came in the mail I tried it asap and was amazed by how smooth and creamy it was.. and it actually tasted like chocolate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by struitt23 It tastes like chocolate! It's a good replacement. Tastes best with milk, but is fine with water.

Rated 0 out of 5 by KB This is the only protein powder I have found that does not contain sucralose, ie. Splenda. That is, except for the VERY expensive Shaklee stuff. Flavor is very good and it blends well. I like the chocolate flavor with milk and ice in the blender. Keeps me going between meals. Throw in a banana for even more gusto. Good stuff. I'm getting more.

Is Whey Protein Powder for me? Whey protein is recommended for just about everyone, especially athletes, dieters, and the elderly. Since athletes work out often, their protein levels become depleted, and high-quality whey protein can help promote muscle recovery. For dieters and those wishing to lose some extra fat, whey protein is very useful because protein balances blood sugar levelsone of the most effective ways to ward off binge eating. And a study published in June 2001 suggested that the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for protein might not be adequate to meet the metabolic and physiological needs of older people. Most people trying to change their body's lean muscle composition can benefit from adding protein to their diet. However, since protein is naturally found in many food items, deficiency is not always a problem. What is a problem, however, is that many protein-laden foods are associated with high levels of fat and cholesterol. Supplemental whey protein ensures that your protein needs can be met in a healthy way. Other benefitsNumerous studies have shown that whey protein helps enhance the body's immune system by raising glutathione levels. Glutathione is a powerful anti-oxidant with the ability to help reduce the risk of infection by improving the body's immune response. There is also some evidence to suggest that whey protein potentially plays a role as an anti-carcinogen.* How much should I take? The amount of protein you'll want to take varies. With programs like Slim in 6® and Power 90®, Beachbody recommends that you get around 30% of your daily calories from protein, which should be taken throughout the day (remember that protein has 4 calories per gram). Bodybuilders who are looking for monstrous gains (and burning an enormous number of calories) can consume upwards of 150 grams of protein per day. Extremely high doses of whey protein are not recommended, as this may cause your liver to be overloaded and your body will have trouble utilizing the protein. Studies show that you can get the same benefits with smaller, more consistent amounts, taken three to five times per day. How do I prepare it? Mixing Whey Protein Powder with water is the simplest and lowest-calorie way to go. You can also blend it into a fruit smoothie, sprinkle it over cereal or dessert, add it to flour for baking, or just mix it with nonfat or soy milk for a highly nutritious (and decadent!) snack.
