Congrats,
Mike, and have a great snowboard season!
"I
started Power 90, ninety-four days ago. When
I started, I weighed 195 lbs. and felt out of
shape. I have not missed one scheduled workout
day in the 94 days I have been on the program
(that's six days a weekno matter what!). Even
when I went out of state for four days to
go to my sister-in-law's wedding, I took the
program with me and had relatives out of state
track down some weights to borrow while I was
there. I didn't miss a day. Since beginning the
program, I have lost 37 lbs., weighing in at
157 lbs. today. I am 5' 7" tall, 34
years old, and I am wearing a pair of 501
jeans that I wore in college (12 years ago),
with a 32" waist, which are now beginning
to feel too loose on me.
Four
months ago, I was wearing a snug-fitting 36" pair
of jeans and I was about to buy a pair of
38" pants. I just finished going through
all of my clothes and giving away about 60 percent
of my wardrobe. I
feel better than I have ever felt in my entire
adult life and I am definitely in better
shape than ever in my whole life. In
two weeks I am taking my wife and kids on a vacation
to Mexico, where
for the very first time in my life I will
feel confident walking the beach without a shirt
on. I owe a great deal of thanks to Beachbody
for giving me the tools to get where I am today.
I love the diet planI love the workoutsand
I love the results. I am not going to say that
it was ever easy, because there were days that
I tried to make excuses not to work out or to
eat that piece of birthday or wedding cake, or
to have a huge Mexican dinner, but it was the
Message Boards, the newsletters, my own personal
drive, and, of course, Tony, that kept me
Pushing Play and pushing forward.
Now
that winter approaches, I am looking forward
to the best snowboarding season I have ever had.
At 35+ lbs. lighter, after all of those squats
and lunges, and with my newfound stamina, I know
I am going to kick up some snow and take
it on.

that infomercial four months ago! My wife and
kids have a healthier, stronger, happier husband/daddy
now. And I feel great. I recommended Beachbody
to my brother, my friends, and anyone who has
asked me, "How did you do it?" And

Tip of the Week: The Gift of Fitness

With
the holidays knocking on the door, how about
giving the gift of fitness this year? Of course,
you might want to avoid giving people you care
for gym memberships, the Fat Flush Plan, or other
indicators that you might consider them overweight.
Instead, how about an entry to a race, an organized
bike tour, hike tour, or other event that will
prompt them to get into shape? Instead of telling
them they're fat, you're giving them a fun life
experiencethe upside is that they'll need to
get into shape in order to experience it best.
Fitness Fact: Krebs Cycle
We're
not promising anything but there's a very good
chance this fact could help you win something

The
key to anaerobic training (meaning without oxygen)
requires understanding of something called the
Krebs cycle and the relationship between adenosine
triphosphate (ATP) and creatine phosphate (CP). All
energy comes from the formation of ATP, which lasts
only around 1.2 seconds in duration. CP recharges
ATP. At high outputs, this cycle will last approximately
8 seconds. Next is a glycolytic cycle, during
which your body uses blood glycogen and oxygen to
repeat the
Krebs cycle.
Recipe
of the Week: Pita Pizza
Discover
this delicious merging of the Mediterranean and
Middle Eastintroducing a combination of low-fat
foods loaded with flavor! Try this delectable,
easy-to-make dish with a catchy name for lunch
or dinner. Mangia bene!
Ingredients:
4
pieces of pita bread
1
cup low-fat mozzarella cheese
1
small onion
1
green pepper
1 cup fat-free
spaghetti sauce
Dash
of oregano and/or dried red pepper
Top each pita with 3 Tbsp. fat-free
spaghetti sauce, low-fat mozzarella cheese, onion,
pepper, or other vegetable. Season with oregano
and/or dried red pepper. Microwave 1 to 2 minutes.
Serve with fresh fruit.
Yields 4 servings: fat 1 g, fiber 2 g, calories
