After completing P90X a couple of times I was excited to try P90X2.
I purchased most of the added equipment with the workout DVD's and found the new exercises to be more challenging than I anticipated! No matter what your fitness level, this program will greatly improve your balance and stability - not to mention your overall fitness.

We have all wondered why professional athletes look better than we do. This is why. X2 is the answer and I love this product. Results are real. Everyone should use it. Nothing compares to it! :-)

P90X2 is the next level of fitness. It focuses on more athletic performance than getting ripped. It may promote extra equipment, but they are all necessary to really get the most out of it. The original P90X also builds athletic performance(To an extent), but mostly isolates muscle groups and hammers them. I recommend getting P90X first to develop the muscle groups and get stronger and then buy this to really utilize the whole body.
To be honest, do you want the best body ever but not live up to it? You won't climb a moutain by performing bicep curls! :D

I love p90x2! It utilizes more core and balance in every workout. As always Tony makes it fun and you feel like he is in the room. I highly recommend giving this a try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Drew The reason you are seeing such a drastic change from p90x to p90x2 is because NASM assisted in creating this program. It takes on a more progressive approach, more so than the last. The details on exercises are more specific and that is how you avoid injury no different from the gym. Proper form is essential! NASM helped to created this program so it is based more so around the OPT model which is how we as personal trainers are taught. Overall, its a decent program for all levels of fitnessm

If you are trying to decide between X and X2, there is a difference. X2 focuses a lot on core strength and balance. It also only works out 5 days a week instead of 6. I didn't get as big with X2 as with the original but I did get those great obliques that rip down to your waist band. If you have low back problems that can be addressed with a strong core, this might help. When I was in phase 3 I had almost no back pain and that was a miracle. If I could just stop drinking and eat perfectly, I could get those abs too -but that will never happen!! ;-) -Oh, and do you actually have to do the ab-ripper workout toget a six pack?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jen From Cheesehead Land MUST TRY!!!!
I am just finishing up the 2nd phase of P90X, I must admit this workout is amazing!!! I decided to mix up from the normal running and lifting weights. I am training to be an police officer and need to pass agility tests, I need upper body strength and to be more agile. I already see results, I can finally do 2 pull ups, and that is from not even being able to lift myself even a 1/2 inch off the ground before. I can finally see tone in my back, arms and legs. It truly is an amazing workout. I look forward to working out every day.
I did not try the recovery drink, I decided to drink creatine instead of what came with the P90X workout. The only thing I can say that I don't like about it, is the yoga- but I just skip that disk and do either plyo or kenpo again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dprui002 Good for recovery weeks or 1 month.
Did P90X, P90X+, all 3 volumes of one on one, then did X2. One on Ones and P90X can be done 12 weeks at a time. X+ and X2 should only be done 1 month at a time if you are looking for mass gains. I think beachbody totally did not deliver on X2. Volume 3 one on one says its MC2 or p90x2 prep when it's not at all like X2. Tony, why did you not keep it the same as you did in the one on ones? hammering muscle groups to get gains in that muscle group. When strength workouts are all core based the muscle group you are working on is not as fatigued. When you put out a workout like chest and back, you should be hammering those 2 until failure. In x2 i did not feel it? Maybe in base and back, which that one you stay away from core/balance moves other than the regular engagement you would regularly get.
If you are thinking this is at all like P90X2, do not buy. If you are looking to get alittle more core strength and gain balance, hit it. Usually you only want to focus on that for a week or month at a time before hitting major muscle groups for mass and strength gains.

This took P90X to a whole new level. Most men don't like doing Yoga even as important as it is so what does Tony do? He incorporates Yoga throughout this entire workout with balance moves. Push-ups on medicine balls? Most people look at you like your nuts if you mention it until you show them its possible by pumping out a quick 10. I feel so much stronger and leaner after this workout, thanks Tony and Beachbody. I can't wait until P90X3! And to Casey... a money making scheme? You don't have to buy the extra equipment and Tony even shows you how to do the workout without them. Don't worry though, you make up the 1% that doesn't like this workout so not much attention be paid towards you and your negative comments.
