Product Development Manager

The Product Development Manager reports to the Product Development Director.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects from concept to production
• Coordinate all product development projects from sample to completion
• Negotiate with outside vendors (formulation laboratories, testing laboratories, contract manufacturer)
• Manage product stability, safety testing, and claim substantiation
• Prepare Cost of Goods; monitor product movement; oversee production batches
• Manage logistics to ensure on-time delivery to and from vendor base

Snapshot of the Ideal Candidate

• 3-5 years experience in the Beauty/Personal Care industry
• Must have strong vendor contacts along with technical expertise and aesthetic sense for all cosmetic and skincare packaging
• Must have a broad knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing with all related expertise—i.e., cost of goods; formula stability; clinical testing; manufacturing scale-up; and FDA Certification requirements; EEC/Worldwide regulations also a plus
• Strong computer and organizational skills
• Previous experience working with new product launches is required
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Must be team oriented
